Hello this is our third review as a mid-core gamer, I promise I will stop numbering them after this one. The game is Shadow of the Colossus. You can read more about my reviews in my first review here.

Title: Shadow of the Colossus

The Good:

Shadow of the Colossus gives the impression of being massive. The greatest feature of this game is the ability to leave and return later without too many consequences. There are many checkpoints making it easy to pick up the controller for a short amount of time and make a decent amount of progress. As the colossus actually get more distant from your start location you will find save points to get back into battle sooner. When you first encounter a colossus its a thrilling sight to see, feel, and behold. It is unlike anything you could possibly experience. Most of the colossus don’t take too long to figure out (you have to identify the weakness of each colossus to defeat it). Once you follow that up with a thrilling defeat you feel extremely accomplished knowing you were so small and the term: “The bigger they are, the harder they fall” remains true. The controls also feel really tight and make sense for the game-play style. To tie it all together the game also has a pretty fun story line.

Hello this is my second review as a mid-core gamer. The game is Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. You can read more about my reviews in my first review here.

Title: Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune
Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune

The Good:

From creators of Crash Bandicoot and Jak, comes another awesome game. Uncharted screams the feel of Indiana Jones combined with the adventure of Tomb Raider ( The good ones not the bad ones), along with the gun play of Gears of War. The game begins by looking for the lost treasure of Sir Francis Drake. Drake who was on a treasure hunt himself, was searching for the lost treasure of El Dorado. The game graphics are by far some of the best I have ever seen. The lush jungles, beautiful vistas, it really feels like you are actually in the jungle searching for treasure. Uncharted’s story line is really gripping, and the relationship between your character and the characters around you feel very natural. The 6-10 hours or so move quickly and you hardly know the time passes. The game feels like your living Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

I just filled out a survey that asked the following questions:
“If as part of your Netflix membership you could instantly watch movies and TV episodes on your TV with your PS/3 or XBOX 360, how likely would you/anyone in your household be to do that?”

We all knew this was coming, but 2008 exciting! The survey continues with specific details for PS3:

“Now you can watch movies from Netflix instantly by using your Internet-connected Playstation 3.  Simply insert a special Netflix disc into your PS/3 to enable instant movie streaming.  The disc is available from Netflix for a one-time fee of $3.”

and Xbox 360:

“Now you can watch movies from Netflix instantly by using your existing Xbox LIVE account.  You can choose from over 7,000 movies and TV series, and your choice starts playing on your TELEVISION in as little as 30 seconds. ”

Additionally there are no additional fees as this says:

“Watching is included in your Netflix plan.  There are no extra fees and there are no limits on how much you can watch. ”

This is exciting news indeed and im DEFINATELY IN! No more hooking up my laptop to watch Netflix movies!

*UPDATE*
Those people doubting this is legimate here a screenshot of the PS3 portion of the survey(I have removed the actual link for I am unsure if Netflix want’s random people filling out the survey) other people have also confirmed receiving this email:

Hello, welcome to my first review as a mid-core gamer. Let me give you a brief overview of what a mid-core gamer is. A mid-core gamer is someone who loves to casually play video games, but doesn’t spend 40 hours a week doing so. A mid-core gamer doesn’t enjoy spending hundreds of dollars a month on games. I am a mid-core gamer, and I am here to write reviews for others like myself. As a mid-core gamer I don’t have a lot of free time to write these articles, nor do I have the time to finish every game I play in only a matter of days. Therefore I will be giving you straight to the point reactions of all games that are reviewed.

First Up: World Of Warcraft
World Of Warcraft

The Good:

WOW as it is commonly referred to is of course created by Blizzard, and Blizzard has never gone wrong. The game is beautifully designed for its time. The sound effects, music and production values are top notch. The game play is simple and easy to learn, but also allows for advanced play for the more experienced MMO’rs. The world is huge and the journeys are epic. Meeting up with guild’s and raiding dungeons with your friends, this has become the new video game past time. I can remember getting the same rush in the past when playing ,Super Mario Bro’s tournaments.

The Bad:

I was expecting more of a Diablo MMO, this was far from it. WOW requires a lot of time to get up to speed. You need to invest atleast 5 hours of straight game time in the beginning to get anything out of it. Mostly point.. click.. wait.. kill.. wait.. kill.. wait.. kill. BORING! There is not to much excitement until you are invited into a guild and start raiding, by then you have invested 20+ hours.

Closing:

This game is by far not for the mid-core gamer, you need to devote a monthly fee of $14.99($179.88 a year), and many hours of free time. With $179.88 a year you could buy 4 console games or 4 PC games. I would not recommend this, over a fun single player game.

Game Length: Infinite
Relationship Status: Plan to break up
Health Risk: High
Final Verdict: 1 out of 10

If you agree or disagree with my review, please feel free to leave comments.

Ran across this at the post office and took a picture, apparently people need to be aware to train their dogs not to attack post office workers.

I was just watching the previous Die Hard movies yesterday in anticipation for today’s release of Die Hard 4. I then noticed that his picture is on the side of the box on every single one of his movies that I own. Now the question remains are there any others out there? Is there a reason for this? Is his mug that cute?

I ran across this email sent to all AAA employees, I thought it would be useful for the rest of you Californian’s.

Ticket is $285. They will be looking for this like crazy - easy money for police department.

Better start shopping for those bluetooth earpieces.

(Update)
Thanks to some commenters, and it appears this story isn’t 100% true, many of these laws are taking effect in July, why I would receive this from AAA is strange to me please below for more information:
