Sorry for the delay in posts all. Been very busy. Being a mid-core gamer has the faults of a busy schedule and busy life. I will be posting additional reviews soon for Dead Space, Star Wars: Forced Unleashed  and a few others shortly.

Braid is a mind game. The basis for the game is that you are trying to save the princess (Can anyone say Mario?). The only way to save the princess is to go into all these different worlds and collect puzzle pieces that go to a large puzzle created for each level.  Completing each puzzle adds a section to a ladder, which leads to the final world.

The Good:

Braid is a great downloadable game for the Xbox 360. The graphics are pretty good for what you pay for. You are able to move in and out of each world as you wish collecting pieces in any order to complete the puzzle. This game really challenges the mind to think outside of the box. Your only source of power is the fact that Tim can rewind time, in theory that means you never die. This game is all about time manipulation. At times Tim can use a shadow of himself to perform actions Tim himself has already done, or a bubble that slows time and can be used to slow a cannon’s shot, etc. Some levels may be so easy that it only takes you a matter of minutes to accomplish the task at hand, and some that require a little more brainpower and time. One of the greatest things about this game is at the beginning of each stage it shows you what you will be dealing with in the next level. For example at one point when Tim moves forward everything else in the level moves backwards!! This game is great for friends hanging out; sometimes it takes more then one perspective to solve the puzzle. A friend suggests something you would have never considered and then suddenly you’re collecting that puzzle piece. I think a great aspect of this game also is that men and women will enjoy it. It is a great game for a couple to sit down and play together and show each other who is smarter!

Super Mario Galaxy is one of those games that seems gimmicky, boring, annoying, and frustrating at first. Yet, once you learn all controls to the best of your ability, the game really starts to jump out. Mario is one of those characters who have lasted overtime. Unlike Sonic and Crash…Mario continues to prove he is the number one mascot.

Title: Super Mario Galaxy

The Good:

Super Mario Galaxy is set in a new outer space world, where Mario travels from galaxy to galaxy in order to collect Power Stars. Power Stars are earned by completing quests or defeating enemies. Each galaxy contains a number of planets and other space matter for the player to explore. The game uses a new physics system that allows for a unique feature: each celestial object has its own gravitational force, allowing the player to completely circumnavigate rounded or irregular surfaces, walking sideways or upside down. The player is usually able to jump from one celestial object and then fall towards another one close by. Super Mario Galaxy overall is pretty fun, jumping from planet to planet and having the gravity pulling you towards them. Shaking the wii-mote to attack, jump, fly, swing and many others thing makes this game creative and a blast. The game play in regards to the planets and surfaces having all their own gravities adds a certain level of complexity to each area. The ability for the friend to pickup a second wii-mote and shoot stars, and collect them, adds to the family play of a game which is almost always mostly a single player game.

Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction is a platform game unlike any other, it is a 7th sequel of several games before it and an outstanding one at that.  Ratchet and Clank respond to Captain Qwark’s (this odd wannabe super hero) call for help while hanging out on planet Kerwan. They find that a large army of robotic soldiers have started a full scale assault on the capital city, led by evil Emperor Tachyon, prince of the mighty Cragmites. Tachyon reveals that he is after Ratchet, the last remaining Lombax in the galaxy; Ratchet and Clank flee away from the planet to learn more about Tachyon and travel the universe for answers.

The Good:

The game flows pretty well, starting off with some fun simple levels that include grinding rails, basic gun play, and simple attacks. The guns are clearly the greatest part of the game, such as the groovinator, which causes the bad guys to dance while you blow them away. As you are learning your characters back-story you take on all kinds of funky robots, absorbing their cogs to buy and upgrade your weapons. Between the graphics and good story the game is an engaging play, flowing as smooth as the pages of a great book. The production values are amazing, and you feel like you are in this story. Wii Fit was created because Nintendo realized how much exercise people were getting from regular Wii play time. You start off the game(workout?) doing some basic balance exercises to find out your Wii Fit age as well as your BMI. Most people will be pretty surprised, as I was to what their BMI classifies them. Throughout the process you unlock additional workouts and or games, and challenge your friends to get the best score.

The Good:

This game isn’t really a game, its just a ton of mini games, just like every other Nintendo Wii game. The things that make Wii Fit great are: Getting real exercise, these workout don’t mess around; It’s tons of fun for groups while you try to beat each others scores; Some of the exercises are really challenging such as the the strength training and yoga exercises. The mini games are really fun and unique. I specifically like the bubble one which seems near impossible at times, but makes you want to try again and again until you finish. Hey all, sorry for the delay in posting this review. I have been trying my hardest to play this game and I am just not able to get into it. I have played for about 2 hours and I’m just not feeling it. However, without further ado, I present to you.
