Mid-Core Gamer Review: Grand Theft Auto 4

Hey all, sorry for the delay in posting this review. I have been trying my hardest to play this game and I am just not able to get into it. I have played for about 2 hours and I’m just not feeling it. However, without further ado, I present to you.

Title: Grand Theft Auto 4

The Good:

This game has amazing graphics, awesome storyline, and cool open world. It has an awesome amount of world to explore, tons and tons actually. The music is top notch, lots of good artists and bands. The physics system is awesome and the game play is super improved and fun, but…

The Bad:

I can’t play for more then a few minutes at a time, I get bored. Super bored. This is one of the most boring games I have ever played since World of Warcraft. There is to much to do, to many places to go. and you don’t get any sense of direction or accomplishment for completing these small missions. Yes, its fun to run around, dodge cops, kill hookers, etc. But it is not long before the novelty wears off. The game is well done, and could be a very good game, but not for a mid-core gamer.

Closing:

Don’t buy this game. The game is tons of fun for a very very short period of time. Very short, and don’t plan on completing any missions. If you liked the previous Grand Theft Auto’s and are a mid-core gamer, you should love this one. If they never kept your interest in the past, this one is no different, move along.

Game Length: Tooo Long
Relationship Status: Horrible
Health Risk: Quite a bit
Price: $59.99 - via Amazon
Final Verdict: 2 out of 10

Dude you have to be kidding me this is a universally loved game, I though this was a mid-core gamer site not a mid-core gay-mer site.

You reviewed a game as huge in scope as GTA4 based on only two hours of gameplay? Granted I’m not a GTA fan either, but that’s like reviewing the first 10 minutes of a 2 hour movie. Either you actually put the effort into playing the games you review, or you don’t review them.

I agree with you that my assessment was half assed, however after playing for 2 hours I got extremely bored. Mid-core gamer is about engaging game play that is new, unique, and varies from time to time. I just wasn’t feeling it with this game.

I have to agree with maybe on this. You can’t review a game that takes 30+ hours to complete in two hours. You haven’t even played one per cent of the game yet. Being “extremely bored” is no excuse. It doesn’t matter if you are a soft, mid, or hardcore gamer, you need to actually PLAY the game before you can review it.

Wow, seriously? Did you even play the game? Dumbass.
