Today I am writing a mid-core gamer review for Simpsons the new one that just came out for XBOX 360 and PS3, for this review I am using the XBOX 360 version but they are very similar. You can read more about my reviews in my first review here.
The Good:
Ahhh, just sitting here at my computer, when I began to reminisce about the original Simpsons game, Bart’s Nightmare. I’m sure most of you recall the game where you go through all these wacky dreams, walking through the streets looking for papers. This version was extremely addictive and at the same time frustrating. Lucky for us this game did not follow in the footsteps of its predecessor. The new Simpsons Game is extremely fun, especially when playing in COOP(Cooperative Play) mode. The graphics are beautiful and true to the Simpsons television show. The game-play is simple, they make it easy to pickup and play and or put down at any time. The game in many ways reminds me of Toe Jam and Earl, the original for Sega Genesis; Funky and fun, work as a team fighting enemies, trying to make it to the end of the game in one piece. Each character has its own special abilities, Homer was able to blow up and roll over things, while Bart’s slingshot did some major damage. I found these two characters to be my favorite, and they had most useful powers. But like a said it’s definitely a team effort.
The Bad:
The levels often are very similar and tedious, you fight a lot of the same types of enemies. Some of the missions such as collecting things are repetitive and boring. The special abilities of Lisa and Marge feel tacked on. Lisa has the power to move things with her mind, it’s often confusing where or what your supposed to do with her power. Marge’s power to command people to go on strike and attack buildings is a neat idea but poorly added, its super easy and extremely boring.
Closing:
Overall this game is a good investment at the current price. The storyline is kinda strange, but what Simpsons story isn’t strange. The game-play works well at small intervals (Don’t play for more then an hour or two at a time). The game works extremely well with your significant other, since you can play together as a team and have a fun time. I give it a definite recommendation for you mid-core gamers with significant others.
Game Length: 6-8 Hours
Relationship Status: On the up side
Health Risk: None
Price: $39.99 New XBOX 360 - $49.99 New Wii - $39.99 New PS3 via Amazon
Final Verdict: 8.5 out of 10

I agree with most of what u say Seanbajuice….I think it is a little more complicated sometimes then it should be…Co-op is def the way to go not enough on ur own…..The game is all about Bart and Homer but then again so is the show, the comedy is pretty good too…so id say a 8 out of 10 for me.
